Clothes should be neat, clean (free of stains, lint, hair), and wrinkle-free.

I recommend solid color clothing, (no polka dots, no wild prints, no logos or stripes).

Clothing of this type can have a tendency to distract the viewer from the most important subject in your photos, you.

Pastel colors are not recommended. Neither is white or black.

Keep jewelry simple.

Colors that compliment your skin tone are best.

In terms of styling:

LAYERS: Layers look GREAT in shots. Bring a variety of shirt styles and layers that can go on top. Blazers, jackets, hoodies, sweaters, are all good choices.

Not required but using a professional hair and/or makeup artist often give clients that extra confidence and polished look.

Be Yourself

Fall Photography Ideas & Inspiration Yesterday was a perfect day for apple picking….I took my girls to Mood's Farm in Mullica Hill, NJ.

A family activity is the perfect opportunity for a photo session. It's a great way to get lifestyle shots while the kids are having fun. They might not even complain :)

Would you like your own special apple orchard shoot? Contact Gwen for more information

I hope you enjoy these photos… Don't forget to slow down a little and breathe in the fall air.

What to wear for photo sessions

What to wear for photo sessions

COORDINATE do not match. Pick 3 or 4 colors that go nicely together. Everyone wear a variation of them. Start with a neutral color and then add layers and a pattern for interest.

Here are some of my Do's and Dont's

DO wear patterns! Boys and men look great in a plaid shirt. I then would have others bring out one of the colors of the plaid shirt and wear a plain colored shirt and pair it with a cute scarf or boots.

DO layers! Put a polo shirt under the plaid shirt. Bring a denim jacket or sweater to wear over a dress. Add a Pea Coat or Vest. Switching out layers changes up the look of the photos.

Do Accessorize! Adds interest to your photos. (Hats, scarves, headbands, a necktie/bowtie and simple jewelry)

Add a pop of color. Don’t forget about your shoes.

DONT wear all WHITE shirts (or ANYTHING where everyone is in the same color) Everyone blends together and makes the image less interesting.

DONT wear LOGOS!!!!!! This is distracting in an image.

I hope these help you,

Gwen Isner

South Jersey Video Production - Gwen Isner Photography partners with, a South Jersey Video Production company.

People block out commercials.  That is why produces web videos that tell a story about your business.

The philosophy behind is a simple one: the person behind the business is as important to the business as the product or service that are selling. If you are able to make a personal connection with somebody, a professional connection could soon follow.

At we help you make an impression in 60 seconds by telling your story, put it to video, with your voice. We script it, shoot it, and put it on the internet and everyone will be able to see it and hear it.

Our web videos, instead of looking like a local television commercial that people try to tune out, will be an engaging personal story of inspiration.

Here is our latest project for Haddonfield Friends School.
